Auchriachan Farm

Auchriachan Farm sits just outside the highest village in the Scottish Highlands, Tomintoul. It is a working family farm with livestock including cattle, sheep, horses and our much-loved donkey, Blossom. It covers 1540 hectares. The farm’s advantageous location means that there are views over to the village as well is the near by Conglass river and distant Cairngorm mountains. The village can be walked into in just 5 minutes, and there is nearby access onto the Circular Walk path that takes you past a bird hide where species such as lapwing, curlew and oyster catcher can be viewed over the Conglass wetland.

The Area

Tomintoul, part of the Glenlivet Estate, has excellent facilities and is perfect for those wanting to escape to a more peaceful way of life. There is a village store, restaurants, bars, museum and art gallery. For the outdoor enthusiasts the Glenlivet Bike Tracks are just a short distance away and whisky lovers can enjoy both the Glenlivet and Tomintoul Distilleries. The village has a central location in the Cairngorms, meaning it is ideal for travelling both to the southern side of the national park, Royal Deeside and the Balmoral Estate, as well as the northern side towards Aviemore and Grantown on Spey. An hour’s drive can take you as far as the city of Inverness or the Moray coastline.

Our Family

We are Andy and Debbie Duffus and will be your hosts at Auchriachan Farm. We took over the farm in 2008 from Andy’s parents who lived here from 1986.

We have 3 sons (2 of whom live in the Village of Tomintoul); Sam, Ben & Max.  Our Boys all have their own jobs but are here often helping out when possible.

After having a weekend away in a glamping pod and really enjoying the experience, we decided that we wanted to offer something similar at Auchriachan, so here we are! We’re looking forward to this new exciting part of our lives and sharing our farm with you.
